25,000-square-foot pet country club opens in East Louisville

The Pet Station Country Club, a locally owned pet boarding, training, daycare, and grooming business, has opened its third—and largest—location at 14310 Old Henry Road.

The new 25,000-square-foot facility includes a grooming parlor, indoor playrooms, a climate-controlled yard, climbable ramps, an indoor pool, fenced yard space, and plenty of tennis balls.

It also features three spacious turf areas totaling 15,000 square feet, including a 3,500-square-foot indoor dog park equipped with custom-built agility equipment and climate control for year-round use, according to a news release.

The Pet Station Country Club has experienced rapid growth since opening as a grooming facility in Norton Commons in 2008. It later launched its first country club location at 4800 Murphy Lane in 2017, followed by a second site in 2021 at 7924 Vine Crest Ave. in Lyndon.

Co-owners Rebecca Blackburn, Paul Blackburn, and Scott Burnley selected the newest location based on the area’s household income and ongoing development.

“Where is Louisville moving? You can follow the upturned dirt and see right where Louisville is moving,” Burnley said. “The city invested so much into the Old Henry Road project to fix this area around Factory Lane. We felt like this is where Louisville is headed, and we wanted to be a part of that.”

A major highlight of the new facility is the region’s newest outdoor dog splash park, featuring 15 interactive elements such as gentle jets, fountains, and misting stations.

The splash park is included with dog “daycation” services and can also be added to boarding packages. Guests may also bring their dogs for a walk-in splash park experience.

“We have the biggest dog-centric splash park on this side of the Mississippi,” Burnley said.

In addition to indoor and outdoor amenities, the property includes a half-mile nature trail for scenic walks with pets.

“We have reimagined pet care,” Rebecca Blackburn said.

The facility also offers cat boarding in a dedicated space called The Cattery, which includes cat condos with feeding and watering ledges, resting shelves, private litter areas, and ample room to move around.

“We want everybody to come and see. You can come for a tour any time we are open. Seeing really is believing,” Burnley said.

The Pet Station Country Club at 14310 Old Henry Road is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
