Cipollini is set to open March 27 in the former LouVino location on Bardstown Road.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A new Italian restaurant is opening this spring in Louisville’s Highlands neighborhood.
Cipollini is scheduled to open March 27, according to Louisville Business First.
The restaurant will take over the former LouVino location on Bardstown Road, which closed in September 2024 after a decade in business.
Chef Dallas McGarity, founder of The Fat Lamb and winner of Food Network’s “Chopped” in 2019, has partnered with Tarek Hamada and A.J. Miller to launch the restaurant.
Cipollini, which means “little onions” in Italian, reflects McGarity’s approach to Italian cuisine with a modern Southern influence.
“Cipollini is about simple layers, honest flavor and the beauty of what happens when something humble is elevated with care,” McGarity said in a news release. “We wanted to create something elegant yet familiar.”
The menu will feature house-made pastas and seasonal ingredients sourced from regional farms.
The restaurant will operate from 5 to 10 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.
