A man died after crashing a motorcycle into a utility pole along Route 1428 in Prestonsburg, Ky., Thursday evening, investigators said.

PRESTONSBURG, Ky. (WCHS) — Kentucky State Police are investigating a deadly motorcycle crash that occurred Thursday evening in Floyd County.

Shane Allen was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a news release from state police.

The release stated that Allen was traveling along Route 1428 in Prestonsburg when he left the roadway and struck a utility pole.

Troopers said they received assistance at the scene from the Floyd County Coroner’s Office and local first responder agencies.
