LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – A shooting investigation in the Park DuValle neighborhood left one man dead and injured a Louisville Metro Police officer in separate incidents.
Police said officers responded late Sunday night to a shooting on Annie Street near Wilson Avenue. A man who suffered multiple gunshot wounds died at the scene. Authorities have not released his name.
While responding, police said a car struck an officer and then fled the scene. Emergency crews took the officer to the hospital with injuries that officials did not immediately disclose.
LMPD’s Homicide Unit is leading the investigation. Police have not shared details about a suspect or provided a description of the vehicle involved.
