Brice Rhodes will remain in prison for life after killing three people in 2016, as the Kentucky Supreme Court unanimously upheld his 2023 murder convictions.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A Louisville man will spend the rest of his life behind bars for the murders of three people, including two teenage brothers.

Brice Rhodes’ case went before the Kentucky Supreme Court on appeal.

In 2023, a jury convicted him on three counts of murder, tampering with physical evidence, and two counts of abuse of a corpse.

The crimes began in May 2016 when Rhodes shot Christopher Jones on South 41st Street. Authorities said he believed 14-year-old Maurice Gordon and 16-year-old Larry Ordway, who had been with him, would report the shooting.

Rhodes then fatally stabbed the brothers, set their bodies on fire, and dumped them behind a home on River Park Drive.

Investigators later used cell phone data to identify possible suspects, which ultimately led Louisville Metro Police detectives to Rhodes.

Rhodes raised multiple claims in his appeal, but the Supreme Court rejected them and unanimously affirmed both his convictions and life sentence.

Attorney General Russell Coleman said the ruling confirmed justice in the case.

“With the appeal denied of this three-time convicted murderer, the court has reinforced that accountability does not expire,” he said.
