WALDORF, Md. – On December 31, 2025, detectives with the Charles County Sheriff’s Office, working alongside detectives from the Prince George’s County Police Department, located 30-year-old Thomas Clay Guinyard of Hyattsville. Guinyard had multiple active arrest warrants tied to a series of heat pump and air conditioning unit thefts valued at more than $40,000, affecting over 10 businesses throughout the region.
When officers moved in, Guinyard attempted to flee on foot but was quickly taken into custody without further incident. Detectives also recovered the vehicle Guinyard was driving, which had been reported stolen.
Guinyard has been charged with theft and destruction of property. He is currently being held without bond at the Charles County Detention Center.
