Jim Garland

Jim Garland, son of the late James Ernest and Sudie (Hammons) Garland, was born July 30th, 1952 in Crawford, Kentucky. He was united in marriage to Lillie (Hensley) Garland of London, Kentucky. He is survived by his children, Jennifer Lynn Garland, Jammy Sue Garland, and Daniel Wayne Garland all of London, Kentucky; by his sister, Janet Rose Garland of London, Kentucky. He was also blessed with three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He worked as a custodian before he retired and was a member of New Salem Baptist Church. Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by his grandchild, Cody Garland; by his siblings, Lonnie Garland, Elizabeth Osborne, Ronnie Garland, Donald Garland, Larry Garland, Johnny Garland and Judy Abner. Jim Garland departed this life on Friday, June 27th, 2025 being 72 years, 10 months, and 29 days of age.

 

Funeral services for Jim Garland were conducted Tuesday, July 1st, 2025 in London Funeral Home Chapel with Cecil Benge and Dennis Proffitt officiating. Burial will follow at Hammons-Bowling Cemetery in Portersburg, Kentucky. 

Serving as pallbearers will be: John Wayne Hammons, Brian Hammons, John Hampton Jr., Logan Garland, James Garland, and Brody Garland.

 

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be: Harold Hensley and Danny Puckett.
