Two-Vehicle Crash on South Highway 421 Leads to Arrest

Clay County Sheriff Patrick Robinson reported that a two-vehicle collision occurred on April 12, 2025, along South Highway 421 near the 2000 block, directly in front of Mike’s Quick Stop tobacco store.

Deputy Dustin Henson responded to the scene and made contact with both drivers involved. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that one of the drivers, Curtis Mills, 50, of Wollum, KY, was operating a vehicle with a DUI-suspended license. Additionally, Mills was unable to provide proof of insurance.

Mills was placed under arrest and charged with the following offenses:

  • Driving on a DUI Suspended License – 1st Offense
  • Failure of Non-Owner Operator to Maintain Required Insurance
  • Failure to Produce Insurance Card
No injuries were reported at the time of the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
