Ollie Ruth Cope

Ollie Ruth Cope, age 97, of Manchester, KY passed away on April 2nd , 2025 at her home from natural causes.  She was born on Friday, February 10, 1928 in Manchester, KY to Luther and Laura (Roberts) Burns.  Ruth retired from Manchester Elementary as a school lunch lady where she served meals and smiles to generations of students. Before that time, she worked at Manchester Drugstore. 

She was also a devoted homemaker, finding joy in caring for her family and creating a warm and loving home.

She is survived by her son Danny Cope and wife Rita of Manchester, 3 grandchildren: Misty Cope Fresca (Matt Fresca) of Lexington, Coleman Daniel Cope and Clifton Cody Cope of Manchester. 1 great granddaughter Madelynn Katherine Fresca of Lexington KY. 1 sister, Alma Maxie of Manchester, KY, 1 brother, Carlo Burns (Catherine Burns) of London, KY.

Mrs. Cope is preceded in death by her husband Clifton Cope, and her parents: Luther and Laura Burns; 4 sisters: Edna Burns, Audrey Burns, Matilda Burns, Maxie Burns and 4 brothers: Leslie Burns, Clay Burns, George Burns and Astor Burns.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ollie Ruth Cope will be conducted on Saturday, April 5th at 1 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Chris Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the Manchester Memorial Gardens in the Manchester Community.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Saturday after 12 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.
