Tigers open 13th region tourney vs. Pineville

March 05, 2025

(MANCHESTER, Ky.) – The 2025 13th Region Tournament is here! The drawing took place on Saturday afternoon and added to the already raucous hype surrounding the tournament.
Many questions have been asked, and many will be answered following the conclusion of this tournament. Below, are the games as scheduled.
Wednesday, March 5th – Harlan County vs Knox Central (6:00PM), followed by North Laurel vs Corbin (7:30PM).
Knox Central was upset by Pineville in the 51st district finals.  Harlan County exacted revenge for two losses to Bell County to beat them for the 52nd district crown.
Corbin owns a 66-61 win over North Laurel so expect the Jags to have revenge on their mind.
Thursday, March 6th – South Laurel vs Bell County (6:00PM), Pineville vs Clay County (7:30PM).
Many say South Laurel and Bell County will be the best opening round game of the tournament.  South beat Bell at the end of the regular season handily.
Coach Brad Sizemore’s team hit a snag the last two weeks of the season but expect them to bounce back strong.
The semifinal rounds are Saturday afternoon at 1:00PM and 2:30PM, respectively, followed by the championship on Monday at 7:00PM. This is one of the most wide-open region tournaments in recent memory, as each team has a fantastic chance at winning if the cards fall their way.
Clay County (21-7) vs Pineville (21-9) is a matchup many want to see, as the balanced attack of the Tigers once again meets the electric guard duo of Sawyer Thompson and Ashton Moser. Now the Tigers must deal with Jeremiah Beck as well, as he averages nearly 20 per game. This could be one of the tournament’s best games, so come early for a great seat!
