Nannie Byrd

Nannie Byrd, age 60, of Manchester, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2025. 

She leaves behind her husband, Troy Byrd; two children, Jason Byrd & wife Martha, Krystal M Himes & husband Harvey, all of Manchester, KY; five grandchildren, Andre Byrd, Jaylynn Himes, Troy (Tbone) Himes, Kara Himes, Alaina Himes; four siblings, Leeroy Edwards, Ronald Edwards, Michael Edwards, Melissa Durham, all of Manchester, KY; plus a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends to cherish her memory. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Green Edwards & Minnie Woods; and by her stepfather, Jack Woods. 

Nannie Byrd was a cherished homemaker and beloved member of her community. Known for her deep love of horses and her unwavering devotion to her family, especially her grandchildren, Nannie’s life was filled with joy, warmth, and care. 

Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was a proud member of the Pentecostals of Manchester, where she found a close-knit church family that she deeply treasured. Nannie’s home was a haven for love and hospitality, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she touched with her kindness and devotion. 

Nannie’s memory will be cherished by her family, friends, and all who knew her. Her love, faith, and gentle spirit will continue to inspire those she leaves behind. 

A funeral service honoring Nannie Byrd was held Sunday, January 19, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Wesley Fugate and Jason Reigel officiating. Burial followed at Edwards Cemetery in Manchester, Kentucky.  The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
