LEXINGTON, Ky. — Central Kentucky is set to see its first significant snowfall of the season Friday, as a winter storm moves through the region.
The FOX 56 Weather Authority warns that a band of moderate to heavy snow will create snow-covered roads, low visibility, and slick travel conditions overnight Thursday into Friday morning.
“It’s overall a quick-hitting system that will drop a decent amount of snow in a short time,” said FOX 56 Meteorologist Justin Esterly.
As a result, school closings and delays are likely on Dec. 12, with some schools announcing closures as early as Friday evening.
Announced School Closings and Delays:
-
Asbury University, Wilmore Universities: 2-hour delay Friday
-
Franklin County Schools: NTI day Friday
-
Kentucky School for the Deaf, Danville Schools: Closed Friday
-
Marion County Schools, Menifee County Schools: Closed Friday
-
