LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) — Louisville Metro Police arrested a man on Thursday in connection with a September shooting in the Russell neighborhood.

Police say 18-year-old Rodshawn Taylor was taken into custody on Dec. 4, 2025, tied to a shooting in the 2700 block of West Madison Street that left a woman hospitalized earlier this fall.

According to court documents, an officer pulled Taylor over during a traffic stop because he had an active warrant. During the stop, police discovered the passenger was the victim from the September shooting.

After running Taylor’s information, officers learned that the victim also had an active Protection Order against him in Indiana, which prohibited Taylor from being within 500 feet of her or having any contact.

Taylor was arrested and charged with assault and violating a foreign IPO.

He is being held at the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections. His arraignment is set for Friday, Dec. 5, at 9 a.m.
