A Louisville man wanted for violating parole was arrested in eastern Laurel County on Wednesday morning, November 12, 2025.

Laurel County Sheriff John Root said that Robert M. Jones, 62, of Louisville, was taken into custody around 11:23 a.m. off Marydell Road, roughly nine miles east of London.

Jones was arrested on a Kentucky Parole Board mandatory reentry supervision violation warrant. The warrant accuses him of absconding parole supervision and failing to report to his parole officer as required. These violations stem from a prior conviction in Clay Circuit Court for:

  • Burglary, First Degree

  • Theft by Unlawful Taking of $500 or more but under $10,000

  • Theft by Unlawful Taking – Auto

Jones was booked into the Laurel County Correctional Center and is being held without bond.

The arrest was carried out by Laurel County Sheriff’s Deputy Cyruss McVey.

As with all criminal cases, Jones is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
