A 16-year-old from Severn was taken into custody after being discovered in possession of two loaded handguns.
According to Anne Arundel County Police, on June 20, about 10:10 p.m., officers responded to Parham Court and Stillmeadows Drive in Severn for a suspected assault in progress.
When police arrived, they discovered that a 16-year-old boy attempted to flee the area on foot but was apprehended shortly after.
Authorities added that during a foot chase with the teen, investigators observed the defendant attempting to ditch a backpack that was retrieved by police.
Inside the rucksack, authorities discovered a loaded 9mm handgun with an obliterated serial number, as well as another loaded 9mm handgun.
The 16-year-old boy was arrested and faces charges, according to authorities.
