Woman Apprehended In Columbia County For Allegedly Using Stolen Nursing Licenses

Jeanne-Marie Ashley Boese was apprehended Friday in Columbia County. Deputies say she used other people’s nursing licenses to work at two medical companies. The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office brought her in after a two-month investigation.

Deputies began investigating this back in April. Someone warned them that Boese might be running a scam. She was informing them that she had a legal nursing license.

Her license was suspended back in 2016. But that did not deter her. Investigators discovered that she had been working for two companies after losing her credentials, using licenses stolen from two separate nurses. Boese spent hours at Hands of Grace and Visiting Angels using the forged credentials.

She faces an accusation of practicing nursing without the necessary certifications. Deputies spent weeks preparing their case before arresting her.

The sheriff’s office does not disclose how long Boese worked for each company or how many patients she visited. They have also not stated if the actual license holders were aware that someone was exploiting their credentials to acquire a job.

When nursing professionals disobey the regulations, state boards revoke their licenses. Breaking the law, misusing substances, or acting unprofessionally at work are all possible reasons. These workers are unable to practice after being suspended until they complete the necessary steps to reactivate their licenses.

Georgia law imposes severe penalties on those who perform licensed professions without permission. If convicted, Boese could face both criminal and civil punishment.

Deputies continue to investigate the case, seeking to determine how far this scam went. The sheriff’s office declined to comment on whether more charges would be filed.
