The Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office has launched an investigation after a 21-year-old man was fatally shot Saturday evening.
Around 6:20 p.m., Akron Police and EMS responded to a shooting incident in the 1200 block of Winton Avenue, according to the medical examiner’s office.
Akron Police said they found a grey Kia Sportage that had collided with a home. The 21-year-old driver suffered a gunshot wound to the chest.
The man was transferred to a local hospital and later confirmed dead, according to the medical examiner’s office.
There is no other information available, and an update will be issued once the victim’s next of kin has been notified and the examination is concluded.
