A 38-year-old woman was taken into custody after a chase with Lakewood police that ended in Cleveland early Wednesday morning.
According to Lakewood Police, at 1:41 a.m., an officer attempted to stop a car exiting the Walgreens on Detroit Avenue that did not have its headlights turned on.
According to police, the car ran a red light at West 117th Street, prompting the officer to commence a pursuit.
The driver ran to the 1300 block of West Boulevard and abandoned his vehicle, according to the release.
When the driver was discovered hiding in the area, Lakewood Police officers were helped by Cleveland Police, who also used a K9.
The 38-year-old Cleveland woman has been arrested, and the Lakewood City prosecutor is reviewing the case.
