LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Police have arrested a second suspect in connection with a March shooting in Louisville’s Shawnee neighborhood that left a woman injured.

According to the Louisville Metro Police Department, 30-year-old Davon Gant was taken into custody on March 23. A second suspect, 29-year-old Steffon Dixon, was arrested on March 30.

The arrests are tied to a shooting that occurred just before 6:30 p.m. on March 9 in the 600 block of South 44th Street.

Court documents state the victim was outside visiting friends when Gant and Dixon arrived and began firing multiple rounds at her.

Police said the woman was struck three times in the chest and abdomen and was taken to University of Louisville Hospital, where she later recovered. Documents also indicate that Gant and the victim were previously in a relationship.

Both suspects fled the scene before officers arrived but have since been apprehended.

Gant faces a charge of assault related to domestic violence, while Dixon is charged with assault and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

Dixon pleaded not guilty during his arraignment on March 31 and is being held on a $100,000 cash bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 8.
