The National Weather Service has placed parts of northwest Tennessee and western Kentucky under a Level 3, or enhanced risk, for severe thunderstorms on Sunday.
Scott McNeil, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Memphis, spoke with Thunderbolt News about the potential storm threat facing the region.
McNeil explained the possible timeline for the severe weather and noted there could even be a chance of frozen precipitation as conditions change.
The meteorologist said the current Level 3 severe weather outlook is something residents should take seriously.
Officials are urging people across the region to ensure they have access to weather watches and warnings on Sunday so they can stay informed if conditions worsen.
