Kentucky Fugitive Wanted for Kidnapping, Attempted Murder Arrested in Buchanan County

HURLEY, Va. (WJHL) — The Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office announced that authorities arrested a fugitive wanted out of Kentucky at an auto parts store in Hurley on Friday.

In a social media post, the sheriff’s office said deputies worked alongside the U.S. Marshals Service to arrest 50-year-old Marty Hurley in the parking lot of NAPA Auto Parts in Buchanan County.

Hurley was wanted in Kentucky. According to the sheriff’s office, he faces the following charges:

One count of Arson
Two counts of Kidnapping – Adult
Three counts of Attempted Murder
One count of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument

Authorities said Hurley remains in custody, and extradition proceedings are underway. He will be returned to Kentucky to face the charges.
