Police Seek Tips After Man Shot in Carjacking in Louisville’s Russell Neighborhood

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Police are searching for information after a man was shot during a carjacking Monday evening in Louisville’s Russell neighborhood.

Louisville Metro Police responded to a reported shooting around 6:30 p.m. in the 300 block of South 11th Street, near West Jefferson Street and Baxter Park, according to spokesperson Aaron Ellis. The victim told officers he was sitting in his vehicle when a suspect approached, demanded the car and fired a shot.

The victim complied, and the suspect fled in the vehicle. Police later located the car not far from the scene. No suspect description has been released.

LMPD’s Robbery Unit is investigating. Anyone with phone footage or home surveillance video is asked to contact police anonymously at (502) 574-LMPD (5673) or through the department’s online Crime Tip Portal.
