LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) — Winter has settled back into Kentucky, and it looks like it’s here to stay for a while.
Sunday Night: Partly cloudy skies will continue this evening and overnight as temperatures drop sharply. Lows will fall into the low 20s, with wind chills in the teens.
Monday: Expect plenty of sunshine through most of the day, with clouds increasing during the afternoon. It will be seasonable, with highs in the low to mid-40s. A few clouds linger Monday night as temperatures turn cold again, with lows between 25 and 30 degrees.
Tuesday: Skies will start partly cloudy, becoming mostly cloudy by the afternoon. It will be a pleasant but breezy day, with highs in the mid to upper 50s. Scattered rain showers move in after midnight Tuesday night while breezy conditions continue. Overnight lows dip into the low to mid-40s.
Wednesday: Morning scattered showers transition into a steadier, chilly rain during the afternoon. Highs reach the mid to upper 40s. By Wednesday evening, rain begins mixing with snow, changing to all snow overnight. Light accumulations are possible as temperatures fall to around 20 degrees, with gusty winds pushing wind chills into the single digits by Thursday morning.
Thursday: Cloudy skies early give way to occasional sunshine in the afternoon. A few flurries may occur, but it will stay very cold, with highs only in the mid to upper 20s. Wind chills remain in the teens all day. Thursday night lows drop into the upper teens to near 20 degrees, with wind chills again in the single digits by Friday morning.
Friday: Mostly cloudy skies are expected, with a chance for flurries or an isolated rain shower. Highs will range from the upper 30s to low 40s, with overnight lows between 25 and 30 degrees.
Next Weekend: Partly to mostly cloudy skies continue, along with more flurries and cold air. Highs will be in the low to mid-30s Saturday, falling to the mid to upper 20s on Sunday.
