Rain will stay north of our region on Monday. If you still need to finish holiday shopping this weekend, Monday looks like your best opportunity. Rain is expected to arrive in our area Tuesday night. These are the temperatures you can expect this Monday.

Ahead of the incoming rain, officials issued a Flood Watch for our region from 4:00 p.m. on December 23 through 10:00 p.m. on December 24. Much of California is also under a flood watch. Kern County, for example, begins its watch on Tuesday, which will remain in effect through Saturday afternoon.

The first round of rain is expected to move in Tuesday night, beginning around 8:00 p.m., and continue through Wednesday.

These are some of the projected rainfall totals that could be recorded by the end of the Christmas storm.

The seven-day forecast shows rain may persist into next weekend. Travelers should plan ahead for the holidays.

Updates will continue throughout the holiday week. For now, have a wonderful rest of your evening.
